Pret Pour Partir: cappotti e parka impermeabili da Parigi
Pret Pour Partir is a French label founded by Xavier Aujard that does one thing: outerwear that keeps the rain out. Water-repellent parkas, raincoats and coats — no other category. The pieces are designed in Paris, the fabrics are made in Italy, and production stays in Europe. All the work goes into the materials: cottons with a water-repellent finish, waterproof cottons, treated wool gabardine, quilted cotton. The label's stated aim is clothing that is elegant, feminine and timeless — "durable by essence and unfashionable" — companions for daily adventures, from the end of the street to the end of the world. Not technical gear dressed up as fashion, but coats you wear in town that hold up in a downpour.

What to know about this collection
A French label specialising in rain-resistant outerwear, founded by Xavier Aujard. It makes three things only: water-repellent parkas, raincoats and coats. The pieces are designed in Paris, the fabrics produced in Italy, and production is European. The name is also written Prêt Pour Partir.
It depends on the fabric. The label works both with cottons that have a water-repellent finish (water beads on the surface and the garment stays breathable, right for light rain and everyday wear) and with waterproof cottons made for real rain.
Pret Pour Partir uses French sizing: 34 is roughly a UK 6 / IT 38 / DE 32, 36 a UK 8 / IT 40 / DE 34, and 38 a UK 10 / IT 42 / DE 36. The brand's range goes up to 44, but this selection carries 34, 36 and 38 only.
Always follow the care label: with water-repellent finishes, avoid fabric softener and harsh washes, which clog the treatment. After several washes the water resistance drops and can be renewed with a proofing product for technical garments. It works like wax on waxed cotton — the treatment is maintenance, not a permanent property.
